Checking In....

Yep, I'm still alive....Just living a the life of a hermit for the last few days of school...Almost done!!! YES!!!

The News

The ultrasound went really well today! The lady who did it said that the baby was very active. She checked the heartbeat, and it was 146. After what seemed like endless measuring, we finally saw that IT'S A GIRL!!! She weighs half a pound, and according to the ultrasound, the due date is October 18. She measured 18 weeks and 2 days. We are all so excited!!

Sarah's Princess Party

Her first sewing project!

On March 24, Sarah turned five! For the longest time, she has been asking me to teach her to sew. I said that when she turned five, I would. So.....at about 9 pm on her birthday we began hand stitching a pillow. It was great being able to teach some one so enthusiastic!

Happy Birthday General Lee!

On January 19, 1807, one of the greatest men in American history was born- General Robert Eward Lee. He fought to preserve freedom for the Southern Nation- my home. I pray that God would raise up leaders in our generation to pick up where Lee, Jackson, and Davis left off-  and win freedom for generations to come.

Quilts!

Here are some pictures of the quilts that Brianna and I made last year. We worked on them off and on all year and finally finished around the first of December. We also made one for my grandfather in December, but we didn't get any pictures of it. :-(

     

 The one on the left is Brianna's, and mine is on the right.

I'm so excited about the way they turned out! We're trying to decide on what kind of quilt to do next. I'm leaning towards a lap quilt, but there is a fabric collection at Hancock's that is screaming at me to make into a baby girl quilt....Hmmm.....

 Brianna hand quilted dragonflies on hers, and I did swirls on mine.

I wanted to share with y'all a new pattern company I found~ Edelweiss Patterns. It looks like it will be a wonderful resource. The patterns are inspired by the movie The Sound of Music. Lisel's Dancing Dress is the first one that has been released. Check it out!
